Fermented Suint Method

Fermented Suint Method is a technique to clean wool fleece in preparation for spinning.  This method was developed for the lower lanolin wools which have a lower wax content in their woolgreasePrimitive and longwool breeds specifically. 


The Chief Veterinary Officer has declared a Prevention Zone to help protect poultry from a strain of Avian Flu in Europe.

Industry teams up against Bluetongue
Bluetongue disease is currently circulating in France and Defra analysis shows there is a significant risk of the disease reaching the UK ​later this summer.
AHDB is part of the Joint campaign Against Bluetongue (JAB), which has put together all the relevant information for farmers, vets, animal health advisers and wider industry across Great Britain. This includes what Bluetongue is, the current situation and veterinary advice and information about the vaccine.

As the weather warms up, livestock farmers are being urged to watch out for symptoms of Nematodirus, a deadly disease affecting young lambs. The UK also continues to be on alert for the return of Bluetongue, as there is a high risk of it spreading into the country towards the end of summer.
